Sorry, but I find shaving "down there" disturbing and gross! Usually women are doing that for some man--who must have a pre-teen fantasy going on or something, just my opinion!!!!

Make sure you're using a razor with a good, sharp blade. The blade will hold up longer if you make sure it's dry when you put it away. I've heard there are some shaving lotions that are designed to keep you from getting razor bumps (I know they make them for men, hopefully they make them for women...)

I've never had red bumps after waxing down there, but it can hurt like you wouldn't believe!

Apply the paste of the turmeric stick (the root of the plant) for about four weeks before going to bed, all the hair in the bump will wither away and will not grow again. It is safe and cool too. Don't use any hair reomover or shaving products either electric or manual. This is the Ayurvaedic(Indian herbal) Treatment.

Shaving is bad for the skin. Ingrown hairs occur commonly down there because of it...shaving makes the skin rough and unpleasant, plus the hair grows back within a few days or less. Always wax down there, it's best. Make sure to NEVER use something like Nair or Veet to chemically remove the hair. The skin down there is too sensitive for that!

If you INSIST on shaving though, use a good hair conditioner as your shaving lube.

They['re irritated hair follicles, and lotion won't help. Try shaving WITH the direction of the hair growth (down and out) and apply BABY POWDER SOLID DEODORANT right after you dry off. Do not use clear or scented, as the alchohol in it will burn like crazy.....I use Dove invisible solid Baby Powder scent. After a few shaves, you will begin to notice the difference. The bumps are irritations in the hair follicles. The deodorant keeps moisture from getting in them and irritating them.

Happens to me too, you probably have pretty thick hair maybe even a bit kinky (curly) I avoid it by shaving with the hair not into it, it is not as smooth, but looks better than the red bumps ( don't try to wax either, you will get all kinds of ingrown hair that will look even worse and can get infected)

After shaving "down there" use a product like witch hazel > The bumps are irratation and infection from the shaving. You could also use a dipillatory cream.

It is where the hair follicle is and the hair is cut so short it irritates the area. I use hair conditioner on mine (the kind I use after shampooing). It softens the pubic hair, it will itch less and you should notice a lessening of the red bumps.
