trying to disable all messengers from my daughters log on.

Don't waste your time. She could just download another or use an online-based messenger.

Change their accounts to Limited. Control panel>user accounts>user accounts>Select the account>Change account type>limited>Change account type.

Then if don't use the messenger go in to your account and remove the software and they can not install it again.
Make sure you make your account with password so that they can not log in a install it again and then it will be avaiable to them.
If you have a firewall like Symantec go to the control panel of it and enable the parent control and then you can block the exact programs to run this can be done with other firewalls.

i have been trying to figure that out for a while. All i know is make a limited account and reinstall the messenger programs

Well, first you'd have to remove the programs (AIM, Yahoo, ICQ, MSN, etc) from the computer. Then, as "Administrator", you have to put limits on other users, like not allowing them to download and install new programs. Make sure you put a password on your Administrator account, or she can just log in as Admin and install more programs.

Its pretty easy.
