Yeah, it happens a lot. Immigration requirements are very strict for anyone who wants to immirate to Europe, same thing in the states. And if you don't have have a job offer and a bunch of degrees, the only way is to find someone to marry you.

I know that some people marry to get into the US. Probably the same thing.
