We are born here to suffer or enjoy the results of our past good and bad activities. Thats the reason for the present birth, but the overall purpose behind birth in the material world is to learn that we are not meant to be here at all. We are eternal, spirit souls, parts of the Supreme Lord, and in our original constitutional situation, we enjoy the direct association of the Supreme Lord. But when we desire to try and enjoy separately from the Lord, the Lord gives us that chance in this material world. When we wake up to the fact that we can never be truly happy here, we ask the important questions: what am I, why am I here, what is this material world, what is God, etc. This questioning process is the beginning of spiritual realization. To live the life with all its ups & downs. Duality is the nature of the universe. Anything & everything is having its other side. Day -night, hot-cold, light- dark, happiness-sorrow, life-death, success-failure, what more? So live your life with its beauties as it come.Help everybody to do the same. Just live happily come what may.

V r born to pay for our sins in previous life. Hardship in present life depends on kind of life v led previously, So start doing good deed & become free from this lifecycle.

Some philosophers think that this is the first state of conscience, and that it is needed to earn other degrees of conscience. Some others think that we are born without a soul, and that we come to this reality to suffer and earn a soul by sacrifice and meditation.
My personal point of view? both are right.
