I am purchasing tickets to Nascar at las vegas motor speedway and was wondering if anyone there knows how far the vegas strip is from the speedway. Also for vegas locals, what is the best transportation to get there? How much is a taxi there?

okay it's waay far, i would really recommend you renting a car Don't use our public transportation on this one, the cab will run you a lot $$, I don't think the Cat bus even goes there, it's like the middle of nowhere, (not to scare you) it's just a nice ride. if your staying for a few days they really do have cheap cheap rentals with unlimited miles, check it out, then you could explore a little more even. Sin City Native...:-)

From the heart of the strip to the speedway is at least 25 miles...on the I-15 it could take around 30 minutes. The taxi will kill you. Check with your hotel if your coming for a major nascar event they may run a shuttel for low cost. Even for locals they recomend you use the shuttel for big races. You may also want to check the speedway website they may have more ideas of how to get there. Good luck

During NASCAR you can catch the CAT bus from downtown or the strip that will take you straight to the speedway. DO NOT TAKE A TAXI - check with the hotel you are staying at most have shuttle service for the race. NASCAR in Vegas is one of the biggest weekends and most places offer free or fairly cheap transportation. See you there - have RV in the infield.

I would just rent a car because the taxi up and back gets freaking expensive! You might as well get a rental car for $50 bucks more and have time to explore areas around and on the strip!

The speedway is WAAAAAAYYYYYYY up north, as far north as the city goes. It's at least a 30-40 minute drive.

if you are coming in march of 2007, you wont have a problem. take the bus from downtown trainst center cost is 5.00 they pass all traffic and have a special lane. if drive or taxi look at 2 hrs. or camp out at track.
