Well, this is one female who isn't afraid of any kind of bugs. I am a native indian so we know what they are all about. First, they are ugly looking bugs and people have given them a bad rep. Of course they will overrun your house if you don't get rid of them and you will even find them sleeping with you in your bed. Which is not something you want to have unless you love cochroaches. hahaha.
Roaches do not live where it is dirty, on the contrary they are very clean, so it doesnt mean your house is dirty if you find any. They come in with your grocery bag, that is one of the reasons, plastic bags now.
Women are afraid of almost any bugs and even flies which are harmless. Afraid of the unknown. Just like when you first meet a man, you are wary, a little afraid because you don't know anything about him..same with bugs, once you know about them then no longer afraid.
I have ants, spiders, mice and whatever coming in and out my house, even field snakes and it doesnt bother me and they know I won't hurt them.
It's all in the matter of education really. If you are raised to be afraid of something..you will be..simple really..:)

Good question. I'm one of them, and I've always asked myself why. I mean, I'm a hell of a lot bigger than them and I could squish them with my fingers if I wish. I guess they're just too ugly and horrific looking...especially those one that could fly!
