I think a lot has to do with what type of developer you are and what city you live in. I know that Yahoo in Southern California has been very aggressive in hiring not just developers for folks from the business side as well.

But whatever it is you do, be sure to keep up to date on what the latest technologies/strategies/techniques are for your discipline because you can be sure that Yahoo will be asking how much experience you have in those bleeding edge type fields.
