who thought up abortion???

Question

i don't want any debates about right or wrong (i think it's digusting to do it! and i don't want to hear it) i just want to know who thought it up and why and if it was a man or woman.

like i said, no debates about it, i just want the facts, it doesn't make me closed mined, i was simnply stating the reason i don't want to hear the "right and wrong" debate is because i think abortion is disgusting and just want to know the facts.

jules i'm not talking about spontaneous abortion and u know it- i'm talking about a induced termination of pregnancy

i'm not putting anyone down- it's one's own choice, i just wouldn't do it and don't want to hear about those who would- facts only!!

If you didn't want to hear opinions about it, why'd you give yours? FYI, miscarriages are also considered as abortions...how is that disgusting? Especially if it's something your body just did on its own?

Well that's a hard question to answer. Abortion and the pratice of infantacide have been around for millenia. Many tribes of ancient people practiced infantacide. If the tribe was to large and could not feed another member they would leave the newborn in the wilderness to be killed by the elements; ie wolves wild animals, the heat the cold and so on.
Abortion has been practiced for millenia as well women could gather herbs and roots and make teas that would stop a pregnancy this was common practice up to and even into the middle ages. Of course outlooks on this changed with the rise of the church, but we won't go there. This again was used to control the households population. If you barley have enough food already then you really don't want another mouth to feed. This isn't really an answer to your question I don't know if there is an answer to your question, but it does give you some backround that these practices have been around a lot longer then our modern world.

Actually I think that it was discovered a number of years ago. Abortions have been performed for many years. Longer than you can think of.

During the Civil war, abortions rose because of the high incidence of rape and molestations. They were quite often done by black women in backwater areas of the south. They used herbs and roots to cause a misscarriage.

The movie the North and the South had a scene where one of the female leads had an abortion done.

Whether there is an actual medical professional who "perfected" the procedure I don't know. I do know however that there have always been ways to "deal" with unwanted pregnancies.

It has most likely been around for a few hundred years. Unwanted pregnancies have surely been happening since humans started to reproduce. There's no real way of knowing who FIRST thought up abortion as there's probably no real record of it. It was probably thought up as a way to..oh, I don't know, not have the unwanted brats. My guess is that it was someone during the middle ages.

I do not actually know, But is suspect a woman because there was a lot of constroversy about babies out of wedlock in the middle ages, and women were even exiled if they had someone elses baby, and people felt it was alright for a husband to beat the wife for doing something 'wrong'.

Aboortion was created becuase women were trying to abort fetus' on thier own and killing themselves in the process as well as other ways of back door aborting killing, or severly harming woman and that led to poeple finding safe ways of aborting fetus'.................But in other cultures abortion has been around for hundreds of years and now sonograms in several counrties are not allowed becuase of gender preference causing women to abort............... There are several reasons that abortion was created and many if not all we will never understand .................

Abortion was invented by Chirst / God. Abortion is used every day by God to make his creation a better place. We do not know the reason that God invented abortion.
Abortion by humans upon humans was an obvious extension of the method used by God in the process of miscarriage. And it was God's intent that we pursue the use of abortion, just as it was his intent that we take control of the Earth and do his will upon the Earth. We are to do as God would do with abortion. It should not be done without thought. I believe that it should not be done unless we are absolutely certain that it is the right thing to do to advance the plight of mankind.
It is important to note that God does not kill in abortion. There is no death of a human soul. It would be wasteful for God to "kill" in abortion / miscarriage. And by definition God is not wasteful.

People have done it forever. woman themselves have created abortion. If we didn't have it medically people would find ways to have abortions that hurt them as well as the baby and then the baby might just come out damaged and then to have it added on them that they are not wanted.
