ok, in some european countries, the rates of abortion are three times as high as here. The crime rate is lower, and poverty rates are lower. Of course they have better access to health care and contraception, regardless of ability to pay.
1.3 millon women had an abortion in the last year, and the rate is declining due to better contraception, and will probably drop even more now that Plan B is about to be sold over the counter.
The most common reasons women consider abortion are:
Birth control (contraceptive) failure. Over half of all women who have an abortion used a contraceptive method during the month they became pregnant.
Inability to support or care for a child.
To end an unwanted pregnancy.
To prevent the birth of a child with birth defects or severe medical problems. Such defects are often unknown until routine second-trimester tests are done.
Pregnancy resulting from rape or incest. Every year, about 13,000 women choose abortion after suffering rape or incest.
Physical or mental conditions that endanger the woman's health if the pregnancy is continued.

PRO CHOICE is a joke - the man & woman already made a choice when they failed to prevent an "unawanted" pregnancy... who gives the unborn baby a choice in abortion? NO ONE, that's who. There's no such thing as "PRO CHOICE", you're either for murder of the unborn, or you're against it.
OK, imagine abortion suddenly becomes the "in" thing and everyone who gets pregnant gets one... how long would our species last? Or imagine if abortion just became the rage in countries with high education standards, or the countries who are (badly these days) "keeping the peace" in the world. What if abortion was used to select gender in societites where one gender was preferred over another (don't laugh - this is going on TODAY in countries like China and India)? I haven't looked it up, but I"ve been told in Roman society you had a couple years AFTER birth to decide whether or not you wanted the kid - in other words infantacide was an accepted practice. Imagine your mom or dad comes to you at age 2 or 3 or whatever and says, "I've changed my mind", whips out a sword and runs you through or starts bashing your skull with a club or rock or something. If we accept killing our offspring as acceptable, what does it really matter if we do it before or after birth? Abortion is murder. Mothers who have aborted their children tend to have problems related to this for the rest of their life (unless they are sociopaths) so it not only kills the unborn, it damages the mother as well.

I believe that abortion makes us a sadder and sicker society. The pro choice people won't admit to that.
As far as crime rate goes, there have been studies showing that crime rates have been reduced greatly because of all the unwanted babies, many of whom may grow into criminals and misfits. So in a sense abortion has been very good for our society. But that would probably put a smile on Communists, dictators, and Hitler's face then wouldn't it?

In the US we are shrinking in population, we then need to import Illegal (slave) labor.
We will have very few to support our retirement, or to provide labor in 20 years.
It also destroys the fabric of society by demeaning Women as objects for Casual sex with no perceived consequences. Men are now claiming that they are not responsible for the child they helped to create and therefore not responsible for helping raise the child because they just created a "mass of cells" the woman created the Baby by not having it aborted.
Lack of respect for life is a very bad thing. Not to mention all of the diseases that are being spread and all of the emotional trauma created in the women who in a time of stress decide to kill their most precious thing they will ever create, their own children.
Planned Parenthood is the worst option.
If you are young and Pregnant, there are other options beside Abortion. How about Adoption?
Peace and God Bless our Children.
