This morning I got up with head, back, shoulder and arm aches. I have no idea what caused these pains, but I figure that I slept badly. I got up tired, full of body aches.

Does anyone know if these pains are caused by wrong sleep positions, and also any simple pain relieving remedies to discontinue these body aches?

I'm sensing that there may be an imbalance of your digestive tract. The muscle groups you are indicating may ache due to an imbalance in the abdomen. Do you internalize stress, or are you on any type of ulcer meds? Try putting some peppermint essential oil topically over the stomach area. Dilute it with some unscented massage oil or olive oil if you have sensitive skin. You can also put some on the sore areas. Do not get it in your eyes or other sensitive areas, please. Do not apply before exposure to sun, or if you might be or are pregnant. Hope this helps!

It's unusual for a bad sleeping position to cause a full range of body aches. It may seem like sleep did it but really it's probably something more chemical in nature. Lying still for long periods can aggravate conditions such as the ones listed below.

- imflamation
- toxins in bloodstream
- high uric acid
Did you eat anything in excess the other day? Even sugar overdoses can cause aches. Did you breathe any fumes (2nd hand smoke, car exhaust, chemicals) ? Some airborne chemicals can upset oxygen levels in your blood which can cause aches and pains.
If the pains are due to inflammation I'd hit it back with some omega 3 capsules (fish oil), if from toxins than some good anti-oxidants like vitamin c would help.
If from high uric acid then you could chug some dark cherry juice to reduce which would also give you additional melatonin which may help increase your serotonin levels. (Serotonin helps with pain tolerance).
In the short term you could try some aspercreme or arnica gel applied onto your skin in creme form.

Take some notes on what you did and ate, and take more if it happens again. That way it'll be easier to spot a pattern.

I get them a lot - AND I have no insurance. What you need to do is buy cranberry pills from a drug store. The juice works too, but you have to make sure that you are only getting plain cranberry juice, not the cocktail. The cocktail has sugar in it that will make it worse. Take the pills, and drink lots and lots of water. Avoid anything sugary. Wear loose fitting underware too. You can also take a pain reliever to help with the pain. Feel better soon! UTI's are the worst!!
