why do so many people spell incorrectly when there is a spell check?

Because they are too lazy to care most of the time. This is the Internet, and the Internet itself has it's own language. Even if they did check it, chances are it wouldn't catch it. At least on here. I have one answer that I do a lot (it's for Club Penguin, an online game) and I had about 10 mistakes according to Word, but none on here.

spell check only checks the question, and not the details when posting a question. there's no excuse when answering unless people are trying to get their answer posted first so they don't take the extra time to spell check. (makes 'm look ignorant)

Because not everyone uses it and because if you misspelled a word but the misspelling was a valid OTHER word, spell check doesn't catch it.
