I have heard stories that Chicken Cottage in London doesnt serve actual Halal based food products. Who do they buy their supplies from? And a contract number? I would like to call them and see if all the food they buy is really Halal.

Salaam :-))

As a Muslim..if somebody tells us something we are not supposed to disbelieve him..
So if Chicken Cottage say they are Halal..the sin is not on you for eating there if it is not Halal..but on them..

I know Chicken Cottage claims to be Halal. There is some debate to this..But they say that they have been verified by Imams so I believe them. And they have a Halal certificate...

I agree with you. Recently I have had to try to explain some of the scholars strange rulings on things. It has come to a point where people are wondering if Islam is really a distorted set of rules or a religion that worships Allah. This is not good. Being a scholar does not mean perfection. I have come to the conclusion that when reading hadith and Quran that if hadith doesn't match Quran you should follow what does match up this seems to be common sense to me. All these rulings on things based on ambiguous conclusions is making people turn from Islam. If I had to remember every single ruling on every detail I would be going straight to the hell fire. I would not have time to be a wife or a mother and in the end even a muslim. I would be walking around like a paranoid idiot trying to follow all the RULES. Islam is about submission to Allah not submission to what man says Allah thinks. Salaam. @ Salmam The problem is using Quran OR Hadith. Some scholars purely use hadith and nothing more. What about a hadith that has more than one hadith on the same topic and neither of the 3 are the same? Then what? They usually say to go with the ones that are most similar... How about go with the ones that are backed by Quran. That only seems logical to me.
