It's hard to have a decent garden in TN anymore with the climate... Most of the summer, outside is SO hot and humid that it's horrible to be out and gardens die about now from the heat, no matter how well-watered!

Indiana was all four seasons. Cold winter sometime snowy. Stormy springs with tulips and crocuses. Warm to hot summers swimming and sunflowers. Cool Falls with beautiful leaf colors!

Upstate NY (Near the 1000 Islands) is a great place. We do get all four seasons, winter being the longest. This spring was perfect however. Just the right amt. of rain and sun to make all the plants grow beautifully. My sunflowers reached about 13 feet tall this year! Summer has been hot periodically (90's) but cools off for a week or two(75-85) before getting hot again.

ALL the states have four seasons.

It's the duration of the seasons that change from state to state...

AND within those states depending on the type topological area you are in... and if city/near city... bodies of water usually help heat regulation... even if it is only for human bodies to dip into!

And between global warming and the coming ice age... you takes your pick and you takes your chances... but this year IS breaking temperature records...

Need to adjust garden if dying out... some plants thrive in hot/humid(unfortunately we are not one of those plants). Sounds like you may be OVERwatering(yup that'll kill'em) too. A good hard soak twice a week better than any kind of sprinkling or lil bit each day...

Some places my gardening was limited to 6 am to 9am... remember only mad dogs and Englishmen (blimey- I heard that) go out in the noon day sun... that's what porches and mint juleps are for Ma'am.

Hope this helps... let me know how it goes...

Pennsyvania has four very distinct seasons...I couldn't live without the dramatic change. I talk to people in Florida often and they tell me that Fla. has different seasons...but...all I can say is that I need a change that is far less subtle.

you should evaluate the option coast.........CA coast or inland..........you're interior one to a number of hours for snow. I moved from Santa Barbara, CA to Destin, FL......I iced up to lack of existence in Destin and that i became steamed to lack of existence interior the nice and cozy temperature months.........yet I did love the water, seashores, nutrition and people!!!!! i'm now in Northern San Diego County.....and that i choose this section more beneficial then everywhere right here in CA.
