said that the reason he woke up was because there was a spider on his neck? Spiders in my bed about 15 years ago is why I developed an extreme fear of them.

I have severe arachnophobia: I was driving on the highway when I saw one of those small spiders crawl across the windshield (inside). I panicked, pulled over and got out of my car. I sat on the berm for about 1/2 hours till my husband showed up and we switched cars.. interesting fact:while I was pregnant it did not bother me to kill them, I think my maternal instinct to protect the baby from what I considered harmful was stronger than the fear itself. After the baby was born, the fear was there. Mental....

Why so many questions about Spiders lately?
Im almost scared to go back to your house.
Are you also scared to walk out the door at night, with all the spiders living there?

Back to your question: What time in the morning was this? If it was really early like 6 or 7 i'd say go back to sleep, maybe in your daughters room or step sons room. (wait skip the daughters room... too much open food in there im sure) If it was later then that.. gte out of bed!! Do some jogging or something useful!

Start with progressive densitization...have a spider in your room, then bring it closer and closer as your fear subsided. Go to a museum and look at spider displays. Read books on spiders. Concentrate on the good aspects of spiders. Read Charlotte's Web, etc.

Oh, and clean the bedroom.

I would sleep in the car that night!
I have a better one for you. A couple weeks ago I was sitting here at my computer. I felt something brush my side, and didn't think much about it,figuring it was a moth I had seen earlier.
About 30 seconds later, a scorpion charges up my stomach and stops on my chest. I took a deep breath and swatted him off. He disappeared into the darkness and I spent the next hour looking throughout the house. I never found him.
This past Saturday, I sat down at the computer again, and checked my email. I looked down, and there he was, trying to crawl under my speaker control! I trapped him under a glass and took him outside, where I ended his time on this planet.

Spiders and me don't mix!!!! I'm not afraid of them, just don't like them.... Years ago I was bitten by a small spider in Vietnam, killed the little ba*tard and didn't think much of it. A few hours later I felt like I was on fire and my forearm swelled up like Popeye the sailor man... It took several days to let up and I had a nasty ulcer for weeks.

If you have arachnophobia it would be very difficult to go back to sleep! You would probably have to search the bed the room and everything else!
