windows xp home does have movie maker... well sort of. Some very early releases had it pre installed while others later on did not. Either way, its an optional install from windows update. It is also true that windows xp professional has it preinstalled, as does media center edition. In short, the easiest way to get it if your machine does not have it, is windows update. Good luck.

Use your Windows Update and you will be FINE.
But you can also COPY any programs that you see in Windows XP Pro edition, and add them to your Windows XP Home edition. It isn't necessary to upgrade from Home to Pro.

Check in the Add/Remove programs section where you can install or uninstall the windows components themselves...not the screen that comes up initially but for Windows itself. Look in Multimedia and if it doesn't have a checkmark, check it and it will install off of the CD

It's probably on your Windows cd-rom disc. put in the disc, go to control panel > add/remove programs> choose to add windows components, and it will let you choose from the programs on the cd-rom to install.
