did you follow the directions to put in the cartridge? i had a similar problem and it turned out i just didnt push in the ink cartridge all the way. also, make sure you bought the right cartridge for your printer. it won't recognize it unless it is the specific one assigned for your printer. other than that, i would suggest calling your printer manufacturer for help.

You've really got a problem here. If those other suggestions don't work, there is no one you can turn to for help. Apollo was under the auspices of HP for about two years. So basically you purchased a budget HP printer. Due to lack of sales, HP discontinued all Apollo products, I believe as of 2004. Apollo products are no longer supported by HP and Apollo itself no longer exists. My advice is to keep an eye out for a new printer.
Ahhhh, yep, I had an HP printer that did that right before it stopped working completely. Though, it may not spell death and doom for your printer, it sure did for mine. I no longer purchase any HP products. You can try uninstalling and reinstalling the driver again but I do not think that will fix your problem. It's not worth the trouble, get yourself a nice new printer, and please, not the $50 kind this time, okay?

Try cleaning the printer head. And make sure you have bought the right cartridge, give the cartridge a shake before inserting into the printer that might also help. Also try to align the printer and print a test page.
Good Luck!

Your problem may be solved by simply turning off the printer and restarting it. If that does not work go to printer and faxes and make sure you have designated it as the default printer. If you have than click right click on the printer icon and click properties and print a test page. If this works it is not a printer problem. Also most printer software has service section and you can find this at properties as well. After trying all of this if you still have a problem go to troubleshooting.

Try to clean the electric contacts (unplug the printer of course) between the Ink cartridge and the cartridge mount on the printer..

I don't know if your printer has printer heads, but if it does I'd look into getting new ones.
Other than that . . . I'll ask the obvious question . . . have you taken the strip off the ink cartridge you've put in?
