pressing the [Insert] button toggles "overwrite" function in some text box. That means if you move the cursor typed letters and type, it will overwrite the text.

You need to press the button. It's really annoying. You've already pressed it once, which means that it deletes the letter in front of the letter you are typing as you type... if that makes sense. Simply press it again and it should return to normal. It's not a fault with your keyboard, it should happen with any keyboard (so long as it's relatively modern), and in many, many applications which require text input from you.
Hope this helps.

You might have a key (delete key would be my first guess) that is slightly depressed, not enough that you notice but enough to make contact. You could have crud in your keyboard that is making a connection in the delete circuit. You'll have to take your keyboard apart to clean it out. (It will come apart in 3 basic pieces, the top shell, the bottom shell and the circuit board. The keys may be part of the top shell or they may be part of the circuit board.) If this doesn't work, you've probably got a crack or break in the cord, in which case you'll need a new keyboard.

Press the "Insert" button once on the keyboard and this will fix the problem.
FYI - When you type in Word or any program that allows typing and have found that when you have made a mistake you then go back to that word to change it; only to find that when you type the right word it overwrites the letters after it.

If you are in Microsoft Word, look at the STATUS bar along the bottom of the WINDOW. If you see OVR, that means Overtype Mode. Hit the INSERT key on your keyboard, and you will see this go away, and new keystrokes will be inserted in your text.

it sounds like you need to try pressing the 'insert' button. from what i understand, when you type 'hllo' and forgot the 'e' and so you go back to add in the 'e' but you come up with 'helo'. that is because you must have bumped your insert button. its an easy fix. just hit insert, it should be on the right of the letters in its own little section with 'delete', 'home', 'end', 'page up', and 'page down' ( or similar) buttons.

Press the "insert" button (left of the main keys, above the arrow keys). This toggles on or toggles off, type over or type insert.

I have had that problem as well. In addition to that, sometimes when I hit delete it goes back a page when I am online. I think I maybe hitting something that is causing this problem.

Your Insert key may be sticky! Try play around with with it. It should be fine after a few tap.

I wouldnt even question it...keyboards are so cheap nowadays, dont try and fix it, just replace it!
I bought my last keyboard @ Microcenter and it was like $4. Of course it doesnt have all the bells and whistles, but it works!!
:-)
