when I had a sty, I went to the dr and he prescribed eye drops to use a couple times a day. the dr may say to wear glasses instead of contacts for a while, but I continued to wear my contacts and didn't have a problem. it should be gone in a week or less

Usually they go away on their own. Warm compresses will assist in bring it to a head where it will pop and heal. Do not ever attempt to pop one yourself as they are caused by a staff infection which can spread. If you find that you are getting them frequently you can get help from antibiotics, oral or drops. They sell OTC products as well, but they do not cure them they only help with the aggravating symptoms.
