The starting rate for a Clerk [level 5] is $18.03. The top rate is achieved in eleven years; currently $24.00.
With overtime pay the average Clerk at my office makes ~ $68000.00/year.
The starting rate for a Letter Carrier [level 6] is a little more.
The starting rate for a Mail Handler [level 4] is a little less.
The work is mind numbingly monotonous. Management is draconion, autocratic, and abusive like no other company I have ever worked for. However, the pay and benefits are very good and there is a no-layoff clause in our union contracts.

I would say about $17 bucks an hour

depend on your level when you first get hire
from 15.5 to 18/ hour
