...been right in the middle of any extreme weather?

Hurricane Hugo came right through my city, and did some damage, but the only way it affected me was that my mom had no power for about a week. Then, I had, literally, just arrived in Marco Island Florida for vacation, when we were told to evacuate for Hurricane Andrew. The resort we were going to stay at had quite a bit of damage.

Yes, we were in a tornado in May, 1996. We managed to make it to the basement right before it hit. It sounded like the house was being torn apart. I could feel the air pressure changing. We had major damage from our neighbors house - their roof came off and hit our house. We lost most of our trees. Over 800 homes were destroyed and no fatalities. Ten years later you can still see the damaged trees.

Yes, Hugo came through and knocked trees down on the house and truck. Also I helped the fire department in Hugo where we had some streets flooded get people out of there homes and brought them to my home and the rest to the army reserve center. I have a friend that got caught on his honey moon during a hurricane and had to stay a week late and also had to evacuate the hotel and went to a shelter. It can be scary you almost think the end of times is coming.

The most extreme weather I was in the middle of was "Ice Storm 98" It was wicked. We hadn't any power for 14 days,The army was going around with generators. The didn't get to our house till day 13. Good thing we had a wood stove. We ate alot of stuff cause our fridge and freezer defrosted. Both my kids were sick(stomach flu) Threw out pillows and blankets couldn't wash themTrees were knocked down, and big hydro towers wer bent to the ground. very erie..

The closest i got to severe weather was getting stuck in snowstorms. Especially in the part of the world i live, it is necessary to monitor weather forecasts regularly during the winter to be better prepared
