I have a cd of songs from when I lost my mom, and some of them might work for you. Check them out on I-Tunes. You may not be familiar with them, but they're poignant and can aide in dealing with their loss while celebrating their life:

When You Come Back Down - Nickel Creek
If I Could Be There - The O'Kanes
A Living Prayer - Alison Krauss & Union Station
Somewhere Over The Rainbow - Israel Kamakawiwo'ole
Con Te Partiro (Time To Say Goodbye) - Andrea Bocelli

That depends on what kind of music this person was most fond of. Play something that you know they liked & it will remind everyone about different aspects of the deceased. Personally, though I'm Metal minded, I rather like Knocking on Heaven's Door, though I'd prefer that it be sung by Guns and Roses rather than Bob Dylan.

Why not choose songs you know the deceased liked? Even if they're upbeat, happy songs there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. It'll remind everyone of the good times they spent with the person. Funerals or memorial services do NOT have to be sad.
