It is usually the experience of people all over the world and in families that you go out of your way and help a down and out man and he becomes your enemy this is usually the case ,some exceptions are ther but they do not prove the rule.

"Familiarity breeds contempt". A truer statement was never made. Also "no good deed goes unpunished". I guess with some people when you help them they begin to feel obligated or something and that makes them hate the person that helped them. Kind of sad, isn't it.

I see what you're saying but I can't really agree with you.

That is certainly not really a global truth. You're either not choosing the right people to help (i.e emotionally needy peopel) and/or you are getting too involved with those types of people.

Another help is to give to others just because. I think you have to go in expecting nothing in return. That is really the ultimate giving of yourself. Just help them and walk away expecting nothing if you are really doing it because it is the right thing to do. Resist their involvement in your life - that's not what you're after by helping them.

Lending money to people (or letting them move in) is also a great way to create a bad situation. If you can't afford to let that money go, don't lend it. It just creates stress. And unless you have a formal lease agreement with someone, no tenants. Same logic- that is just above and beyond what should be expected of you except in rare cases.

So don't be quite so pessimistic. Helping people can have a happy ending when you approach it in a certain way/with a certain mindset.

Ye, true. My family has faced this problem helping another family.
Can't help it my friend. You get to know only after getting hurted that you made a blunder. We need to understand a person properly before we offer a help. Well, in some cases we are not
able to predict that this person will turn bad. It is end of the day fate & nothing else !!

Help within charity should not be compared with any return on that count. If so, such a statement will not emerge!

Your right, probably because you stop helping sometime along the line and they don't like it... they expect it at that point so it becomes a problem....
