OK, so he knows you exist, that's a good start:), unlike many other situations. I suggest that you feel the territory before actually telling him that you like him. Try mentioning like off the record the types of guys you like, and then ask him what types of girls he likes. Don't get discouraged if he describes the complete opposite of how you look like. The character is what matters anyway.
If he's your good friend, you should be able to tell him whatever it is that is bothering you, or he will sooner or later figure out himself that something is wrong, as well as that you have a crush on him. But basically there isn't any other option than talking to him about it, you have to take a risk. What do you know? Maybe he has a crush on you too, and is also afraid of telling this to you!:)
Be brave, but don't rush! Otherwise you might scare him off. Good luck!

you should try talking to him. be prepared for a let-down, though. he may not see things in the same light. dont screw up a good friendship on this account. let me paste an answer i had given to a similar query to someone else earlier on...
Firstly, brace yourself for the strong possibility that he doesn't think of you in that light. Don't ruin what seems to be a very good friendship on what others think.
But yes, if you have very strong feelings for him, you should explore the possibility. Dont get your hopes high. It maybe that he just doesnt know how to respond.
On the plus point, you seem to be good friends, so it must be easy talking to him about anything. Go for it. In private, go and talk to him
If he's not interested in that, chuck it, but make sure it doesn't hurt your friendship. Be open to possibilities in both directions.

First ask yourself what are the strong points in you that would attract a guy. And take a look in the mirror to reflect on your own image. It helps if you seek help from a image consultant . But $$$.

If u are a very friendly and attractive and clean looking girl and if u pay attention to him and flirt a little, and if he does not respond, maybe it is not meant to be. Good luck. DO NOT have sex with him just to think he likes u. He must like u for u not just sex.

Tell him ya'll need to talk and tell him straight up how you feel about him because maybe he feelsw the same way too. dont wait too long becasue you might lose him and then it will be really hard to get him then.

just be yourself, otherwise he won't like you, he'll like the person your trying to be, and then it just won't work out. maybe tell him that you like him, see how he responds.
