Don't. Be an amateur artist instead. If you enter local competitions, develop your work continuously, take classes, read art history and theory, and keep focused on your vision of being a professional, you might eventually make it -- but the odds are that you won't, because the reality is that almost no one does, especially without having attended art school.
A better approach is to love making art; be passionate about what you're doing. If you're talented and you self-promote a little, you'll eventually find a market for your work, but in the meantime focus on making art that's important to you.

Without any foundation, you might want to start out by looking at formal courses that offer you some beginner teaching.
To understand yourself better, take an arts foundation course that offer you an insight into the many area of arts, like: fine arts, multimedia, pottery, sculptures, graphic design, and many more.
From there and then, you might learn that you are really interested in arts/sculpturing or you are merely fascinated by it.
There are many collectors or enthusiasts who know and learn about sculptures and arts, but they do not necessary know how to do it literally. So, understanding your inner talent and liking is the most important thing at this stage. This way,you will not regret of your undertakings and you do not waste precious time and money.
Good Luck!
