Does your body regualte itself to start dropping eggs the left side every month? Or is it useless for me to try and get pregnant? it has so far been very frustrating and stressful, which I aslo know can have an effect on whether you conceive. any help or words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated.

Well, generally the remaining ovary will continue to perform as before, dropping an egg every other month.
Now in therory it SHOULD make up for the loss of the other, because the ovary is what maintains and distributes the hormones.
Because teh other one is missing, it may very well kick into overdrive and begin dropping them every month.

It really should have no effect on your attempts to concieve.
Unfortunatly, since you have no idea exactly when You last dropped an egg from the left ovary, I'm afraid it will be a hit and miss thing for a while.

Try having sex 14 days after your cycle,
Say for example your cycle begins on the 1st of each month,
14 days later will be the 15th.
The 14th, 15th and 16th are most likely your most fertile days.

Believe it or not, sperm can not survive in the body if it gets warmer than 99 degrees, if this happens, it will kill the DNA inside the sperm, making your husband shoot blanks.

But, take heart, every 90 days the male reproductive system makes a whole new viable batch.

Don't try for having sex every day.
It takes 24 to 48 hours for the male to reproduce his sperm count.

Try and have sex a few days before your ovulation begins, the sperm can live for up to 3 days in the womans body, the more sperm you have, the better your chances of getting an egg fertilized.

I know this sounds crazy, but make sure you have an orgasm!
If you orgasm during sex, your chances of getting pregnant are higher.
There is a small "pool" where the semen collects, when a woman has an orgasm, the uterus literally "drinks" from this pool.
If this is a problem, try some manual stimulation, or use a vibrator to help you reach orgasm.

Lay in bed after sex, put a couple of pillows under your bottom, elevating your hips,
lay like this for 15 minutes afterwords.
This helps the sperm travel further upward towards the falopian tube and the egg.

Good luck!

Actually sometimes the remaining tube will "pick up" the egg from the ovary that is on the other side.

Depending on the severity of the endo, you could have a very good chance of conceiving naturally.

There are some stories of women with endo on the site below.

Your left side will compensate. Your chances of fertility will be reduced, but certainly not impossible. Maybe consult a qualified reproductive endocrinologist to help you put your mind at ease and assist with any IVF protocols as needed. The important thing is that the Endo was truly removed; having any disease left behind at the time of surgery will lead to recurrence of painful symptoms and can drastically reduce your chances of conceiving as well. Good luck and hang in there; you're not alone. Hope it all works out.

What I've heard is that the one ovary will probably release it's eggs on the same schedule it always has. It wouldn't be once a month, probably every other month. Women do get pregnant with endometriosis.

From what I understand...you would only have a chance to get pregnant every toher month. You could go on clomid and I think that would make you ovulate every months. There's absolutely no reason why you can't get pregnant even having only one ovary. Talk to your Dr about whether or not clomid would help you.
