I'm a liberal Democrat who disagrees with most neoconservative notions.

Still, I give them the benefit of the doubt on racism.

What you're actually seeing, I believe, is the strong nationalism that drives neoconservative thinking. In their view, America's chief obligation is to take care of itself, and to promote its values to the rest of the world.

At the moment, in the neocon view, the part of the world where Arabs live is most in need of American democratic values. Therefore, it may appear the neocons are "against" Arabs.

If things were different, it might appear the neocons were "against" Koreans because of the unpredictability and belligerence of the North Korean government.

By the way, another major concern of the neocons and, probably, most Americans is Iran and its continued threats to develop nuclear weapons. While Iran's population is 98 percent Muslim (the vast majority of these Shi'a Muslims), it is *not* an Arab country. Just over half of Iranians are ethnically Persian; only 3 percent are Arab.

You need to define "racist". If you mean being aware of the religion and ethnicity of those who attacked us on 9/11 and continue to attack the Western world, then I will plead guilty to such "racism."
We need to drop the PC bullsh!t and racially profile as an important step toward acknowledging that it's Islamic fascists who are trying to not only kill Americans but all non-Muslims.
Unfortunately, it seems liberals' sensibilities keep them from acknowledging this.

Having said that, openly stating that we're racially profiling would be stupid, as it would simply tell those Islamo-fascists they need to recruit more "American" looking people. Well, I don't think they'll find as many willing suicide-bomb candidates among Westerners. But in the meantime, at least we will have forced them to change tactics.

In football, if a team's offense is killing you by running the ball, you're going to adjust your defense to try to stop the run. If they move to the pass, fine; at least you've stopped the run, and they may or may not be successful with the pass.
But by failing to racially profile, we're letting the terrorists run the ball while we stand on the sidelines scratching our heads, insisting that we need to defend the run and pass equally.
