Anytime you buy American products it helps the people of this country

Ford is a business who has squandered away quality, corporate financial control, and just plain common sense.

A ford vehicle is one which requires more long term maintenance, will not last more than 100,000 miles if you are lucky and is quite frankly built inferior to most other makes. If you live in a cave, get out once in w hile and buy a copy of Consumer's Reports magazine and look how poor the quality of FORD vehicles has been.

If you want to waste your money for the sake of "saving someone's job", save your money and send them a check directly. You will not be helping save someone's job, as the company will dissolve one day as being an obsolete entity. You will help to proliferate the FORD family's inability to understand the concept of contrition or creating a quality driven product.

Conversely, do you think FORD workers are going to help you out by buying something to support your job? More foreign firms are opening plants in the USA. Have you bought local produce lately to help your local farmers? Have you bought all made in America shirts or TVs in the US lately? You have??? Thats funny, they don't make them anymore here.

Honestly, do yourself a favor, buy something with value and that is reliable. FORD is like Kmart, "it sucks."

No. I wouldn't buy a ford because I don't think it is a good car, if you want to buy an American car look for something better made like Chevy or Pontiac. Also everyone should be prepared at anytime to look for a new job. I update my resume weekly because there is no security in life. People who get upset over cutbacks and losing jobs are not protecting themselves. You cannot blame anyone else when you are not prepared. I don't like it when people sit around and whine and cry over this kind of stuff. Learn how to do something else. Go look for another job before the **** hits the fan. I wouldn't sit around and wait for the end.

No. If you only buy out of pity, then you are not really helping. It would be better to buy the car you like, or is the best value, and then donate to charity. The US manufacturers got compacent because people always bought their products. Recent companies that have done better at meeting needs should be rewarded. If all people did was buy American for that reason, then the American manufactures would have no incentive to improve. I like where some makes are going, like Cadillac, Dodge, and Chrysler, but am amazed at the lack of originality from Ford and Chevrolet.

This was in a story I read this morning..
Mexican factories for U.S.-based automakers have been cranking out models such as the Ford Fusion, which have helped boost exports of Mexican-made models by nearly 50% to just over 876,000 vehicles through the first seven months of the year.

Here is the link with the entire story.. which wasnt about ford but economic growth in Mexico.

Maybe they should quit outsourcing...
Nothing will save American jobs except the gov't and the corporations that decide to give our jobs to others.

No, because most of the money goes to Ford anyway and I'm pretty sure that the Ford Board of Execs isn't struggling financially.

This report is probably a marketing tactic anyway.

Unless Ford is promising to guarantee you a well-paying job for life, you should keep my money and buy the best car for you.

That is a funny idea considering that a lot of Japanese cars and trucks are being built in this country now. Indiana is getting another auto plant from Honda I think. Indiana already has a Toyota and Isuzu plants. So, if I do not buy a Honda, Toyota or a Isuzu, will I put an American worker out of a job?

No, you should buy the car that seems the best value for your needs. That is the only way to encourage Ford to become more competitive in the world market, which is the way to save someone's job.l

I say no. How else are we going to tell Ford that their products suck? We pay people $25 an hour with no college education to sit on their a$$ and do assembly line work for our major auto manufacturers... and then they go on strike for more money... are you kidding me?

I have always been a big fan of US auto manufacturers BUT it's time to make them do their job. Quality should always be job #1 but it's not anymore. They have to stay competitive with foreign manufacturers.

No, the fact is Toyota makes a better truck/car then ford and GM. As a personal investment it would be much better to look into a toyota/Nissan/Honda. I hate seeing American car companies fall on hard times too, but they will have to do better to get my business back.

Ford has not been able to keep up with technology, or the times. They have changed there focus so many times it makes even Henry's head spin!!!

I hope all the best for them, but it does not look good in the short game.

Huggs and Kisses,,,
