Unless you can make it to a fruit stand or market you may have to rely on the almonds to tide you over.
What I have done is to bring unsalted crackers, trail mix and water in my car at all times. Just for times like that.

if you use the vending machine at work, why dont you instead, take a big tub with a lid on, full of melon, strawberries and grapes, chill in your fridge the night b4 and take to work. Also 2-4 slices of wholemeal bread, with loads of ham or chicken and tomatoes and salad in (no mayo or butter). that should keep your going. while at work. cereal in a morning. And loads lean meat or fresh fish with loads veg and small helping of potatoes for your dinners. oh and loads of water. Bet thats more than your eating now !

Carry fruit & water everywhere. Not fun but great snack. Almonds have high fat - may not matter now but it will with age,

Make a sandwich...or buy one if you are not at home. If you are concerned about weight or health, go easy on the meat and cheese and avoid high-fat condiments like mayo.
