One piece of the answer is familiarity; it's the source of the sentiment that spawned the saying: "Better the devil you know than the devil you don't." In reference to your question, it means that no matter how rotten someone's situation may be, they might be used to it.
Another piece is fear of change. Once someone has managed to figure out the 'rules' of a situation, even if it involves degrading themselves, they'll probably resign themselves to it and just keep going. The average human being would be more likely to stay in a bad situation than take a chance to change it, since there is the possibility that the situation might somehow become worse.
A third piece is conditioned powerlessness. If you look at the American educational system, it really isn't designed to help people achieve their maximum potential. Yes, you have the unusually driven and dedicated teachers who manage to drag their students kicking and screaming into bettering themselves, but the general structure of the system is to produce punctual, obedient factory workers, not innovators or enterpreneurs or other kinds of people who actively pursue or create social forces. As adults, we're told to contribute to the betterment of the company, but we pick up fairly quickly that our bosses want us to make them look good but not at the risk of taking said bosses' jobs.
Generally, if you want someone to change, you've got to set up conditions so that the price of not changing is more than they can possibly pay, in a karmic sense if not an economic one.

Some people don't want to see the truth because then they would have to look at themselves or the situation they are in. To some it is easier to live a lie then live the truth. They are scared to see and believe in the truth. There are a number of reasons why they do it...It could be a parent does not want to see her child doing drugs, so the parent goes into denial about seeing the truth, or a wife doesn't want to see that her husband could possibly cheat on her... for the simple fact that she is scared of being alone. The wife will ultimately make all sort of excuses for her husband. These are just a few reasons I believe people would rather believe in lies then the truth. To put it plainly...Some people are so blinded by the lies they couldn't see the truth, even if it was put right in front of their eyes.

People get used to what's around them. They get scared of the unknown. They are afraid the truth will hurt them. Yes, they are blind. But sometimes people don't always stay that way, if you are around someone who won't face the truth, give it time and patience.

They are scared...I mean its better to live a lie then to accept the truth, at least to some people...Me personally I would rather know the truth so that I don't go around living my life looking like a complete moron. Most people just don't grasp these concepts. were you refering to a specific group or are u just venting?

you're fake effect the which skill. God did no longer say Adam and Eve would die the prompt they partook of the fruit. He stated they might "easily die". That became right into a warning, no longer a danger. Verse 22 does not in any way represent an admission of deceit on God's area. What it does teach is compassion. Having come to the component of understanding stable and evil yet no longer yet having exchange into re-unified with God, if Adam and Eve had eaten of the fruit of the Tree of life (and lived continuously) they might have lived continuously faraway from the presence of God (ie. disunified). The serpent (as standard) additionally advised the certainty... or a deceptive area of it. jointly as they did no longer actually drop ineffective in that prompt, they DID die on that day. (at some point = one thousand years - see 2 puppy. 3: 8). in addition they DID exchange into wiser. you notice, Lucifer have been there whilst God initially expressed His Plan (to strengthen the spirituality of His infants), which coated that folk would desire to alter into mortal and experience duality to verify that them to alter into sensible. God despatched Adam and Eve to mortal life (from the backyard of Eden) so as that they might then common procedures to beat duality (with the aid of determining directly to incorporate easy/Goodness). discovering to beat duality (ie overcoming the organic guy to incorporate the non secular) is the strategies-set of turning into divine. Peace. P.S. thrilling component nevertheless on what verse 22 DOES say... God became into speaking to somebody else... announcing the "the guy is exchange into as one persons" - which skill, there are different persons like God? i think of it is the whole component: He needs us to alter into like Him. Verse 22 became into God commenting on how Adam and Eve had made the 1st step in direction of godhood and taking steps to ascertain that they did no longer cut back to rubble their progression. God has a brilliant, complicated plan that He explains little with the aid of little to those who love Him and function faith in Him.
