Just wanting to know how the repairs are going down in Cancun since Hurricane Wilma? If you have been before and after the hurricane - what's the difference. Thinking about going but don't want to deal with "still under repair" issue.

I was in Cozumel and Playa Del Carmen at the end of June. Although the Hurricane turned the place into a skeleton, they worked their butts off to get tourist back ASAP. A lot of attractions were destroyed but we were able to find plenty of things to do and had a ton of fun. I wouldn't worry too much about "still under repair." In Mexico, everything is under repair.

I think it should be very nice by now. I went in december, and they were still repairing a lot of stuff, but I think now it should be fine.

You can also try "Playa del Carmen", which is a smaller city about a hour south of Cancun, and it's very pretty.

I was there a month ago, everything was great... The only repairs you could see were those being done on a few (3-4) hotels on the hotel zone. Otherwise everything is in mint condition, had an amazing time.
