WOW you have an aquarium that is 1 inch by 2 inches and has no depth? I would guess either bacteria or an amoeba. Minnows STILL needs some depth.
I would suggest getting a MUCH bigger aquarium - at least if you want to put fish in it.

AN AQUARIUM SIZE 2 INCHES BY 1INCHES IS TOO SMALL FOR ANY FISH!!! if you mean two feet, by one foot, i would get smaller fish. Mabey a betta, or guppies. Or, if they get along, Booth. You could add ghost shrimp, or loaches too. Just make shure you have a filter, bubbler, and heater even if you get a betta. They are just like other fish and need proper care. Dont put em' in a vase!!! GOOD LUCK FINDING FISH.

hey
all fish need 1 gallon of water to swim around in i started of with 2 small goldfish from wal*mart but a lot of people like to go bigger than normal so glo-lite tetras are good you have to put a heater in cause tetras like warmer water..other cool fish are angel fish if they are really small u can fit them but u also need a heater because tropical fish need heat...really pretty fish are black moors there fins are so pretty other fish are koi fish u can get small koi fish

Ok first of all...find out the actual size of the tank. Better yet... figure out how many gallons it is. For every Inch of fish you want to put in a tank....that inch should have a gallon of water. So say you have a fish that is about 3 inches....then that fish has to have a minimum of three gallons just for itself. And so on and so forth.

bete but only one
Gold fish
angel fish
guppies
if you are going to mix make sure you do not put 2 kinds of aggressive fish into one tank.. they will kill eachother... and becareful what aggressive fish you put with the passive ones... the aggressive fish will some times see the passive as a threat.
better yet... go ask a pet store
