My answer would be neither. You have to put the the PS3 in the mix when your talking about next generation systems. The cell technology itself cost Sony 1000.00 bucks. The graphics are cutting edge and the game line-up is outstanding with assassins creed and the darkness as well as war-hawk and a new Tony hawk game and mgs coming back, plus it does so much more than just play games. The Wii has no games after Zelda and Metroid and the x-box has had many problems with the games freezing up and the system overheating. If you look at the new game dead to rights the typing is so small you can't see it unless you have an HDTV. People knock the ps3 because of it's price, but you remember that you get what you pay for.

I will eventually be getting both and bypassing the Sony.
Mostly, the XBOX will be for the next gen games, and also because I skipped the original xbox, I'd really like to play some of the games that were called "groundbreaking" in the video game world (Halo, etc) - so, I'll be skipping Sony this round in favor of the Xbox, and I'm pretty sure the next gen will have backward compatability with the PS3, anyway.
The Wii I'm getting only because it has backwards compatability to the entire Nintendo Line. Mind you, I've been using emulators for ages now - and that's a definite option for those that dont want to or can't ditch out the money for two systems, but there's something different about sitting ina big comfy chair with a coke and just playing games on TV thats more enjoyable than playing on a computer.
I don't think Wii is going to have that many great games. However, dont' quote me on that.
So really, it comes down to: do you want to play new games, or old games? Wii doesn't have a lot of info on their new games.

Well The Wii alllows you to actually "play" the game so it is somewhat active, plus I haven't much of anything bad about it from gaming magazines, 360 is just somewhat not up to the standards of Wii
