God doesn't make the people suffer, Satan does, everybody who asks questions like this seem to forget about him.

There is a balance to everything, the badness in the world would be no better, or no worse without religion. It's called life.

You don't need a God to lead a selfless life, loving others & helping the helpless. But why does God have to have a point ? If God (who or whatever you take that to be) has a point, then does that not mean that whatever created God must have a point etc etc ? As for millions suffering, humanity has the gift of free will (you can argue over whether we were given it by a God or whether we just have it) & suffering is generally the consequence of the actions of others so really we are each others' worst enemies.

The world would be a lot worse if there was no religion. The saying goes God never endures upon you nothing you can't handle. If the Lord didn't believe we couldn't handle everything he puts us through we would not go through it. If people would stop believing in those other GOD(s), and committing adultry, criminal activity such as terrorist acts and other crimes, homosexuality, and just plain not believing in God, are some of the reasons things happen to us. The reason hurricane Katrina did so much damage to New Orleans because those people are sinning to the utmost. Stop believing what society and the government tell you and believe in the word of GOD!

The 'god gene' is something that's being explored or investigated by scientists. A certain area in the temporal lobe of all our brains causes us to 'believe' in a religious presence. It's a survival mechanism we've developed over the eons.

They can prompt people to feel a 'religious presence' by stimulating certain areas of the temporal lobe. They've already known that high anxiety, stress, near starvation and other extreme emotional situations can trigger the 'god gene,' but there has not been enough investigations to pin down the exact cause. The new studies are intriguing however.

Hi

Suffering is part of Gods scheme of things. He does not want living beings to only enjoy this life. Actually you can appreciate pleasure only if you know what pain is.

The problem with the present day religion is they are prescriptive and imposing.
As long as they dont claim that they alone have exclusive right to the entry of the Kingdom of God there will not be any problem. Thinking that the Truth exists only in their scriptures and there is no Truth apart from their scriptures is the cause of many conflicts

The Earth is made out of a number of layers (mutually with the middle) that radiate outwards at different depths and sizes. the exterior of the Earth is the layer talked about as the crust, and the crust is split into many segments talked about as plates. those plates are continually in action, in spite of the reality that they flow so slowly that any major change interior the plates will purely be said after thousands of years. now and again the flow of one plate over yet another builds up ability, and it truly is released on the point the position the plates meet, talked about as the fault line. This launch of ability is the muse for an earthquake. ability is often released in different ideas, alongside with even as a volcano erupts with sufficient rigidity. artifical explosions may also launch sufficient ability to reason an earthquake in the experience that they are ok. in spite of the catalyst is for a significant launch of ability in or against the Earth's crust, it truly is what triggers earthquakes to take position. note: there are Christians who actually have a mind. a minimum of a few people do.

Please take note of this.... God is not someone whom you might need today, but not tomorrow, or any day you wish you might say you need Him. God is not the reason of anybody's suffering. God gave us the free will, the only job of God AS God is to enlighten people's minds, and depends upon the will of the humans whether to embrace God's way OR not. If people suffer, it's because it is their will. Well, if ever you might ask, "what about those other people who are really hopeless?"... simple answer is... "they could have done something relevant for themselves rather than stay still and just wait for any grace to come."
From the tone of what you've written... do you really believe in GOD?

Religion is fictional and is based on having faith in a higher power...

It's essential to have faith in something as without faith there is no hope and the world would be even more crazy than it is already.

Some people have faith in things in their life, others turn to religion for faith...

To my knowledge most religions have a general concensus to live your life by, in most (but not all)circumstances this is to do good (eg:10 commandments)...

.... So in a round about way there is no god that is going to save the suffering or make miracles but without the faith people have in religion the world would be a far worse place....

exestentialists beleive that religeous people are too weak to admit that life is purposless, and religious people say that exestentialists are too weak to admit that they have someone to answer to after death.

if you think deep into it,people only help each other because they grew in an environment of religion.wright and wrong are parameters that people decide on,but basicly a person would eventualy choose what`s best for him.so we must agree that it`s in our best intrest to have someone and/or some thing to teach kids that it`s in they`r best intrest to share they`r bread with other kids.

the problem is that some where along the distance, when we get to learn true love,we stop doing good deeds for the pay but we do them for love, that`s where some people lose the connection.

if you r looking at the world 2day and wondering where is god, then i must ask you where is god in your life?

god created this world with the concept of survival of the fittest, and in his religion he introduced the concept of love,so as long as people dont follow, there will be no love in this world.

The world would b a much better place without religion. Religion has been one of the top causes of world troubles ever since they were invented. Way back then we had the crusades now its Islamic nutters blowing themselves and any innocent within range up.
There is even trouble within religions for example Catholics and Protestants in northern Ireland and the diffrent groups of muslims in the middle east.
And then theres Isreal and so on
