I often have asked myself the same question. My guess would be (a) the novelty of being able to ask questions and get answers from all over the world (b) man's inherent laziness and (c) a willingness to display their stupidity in some of the questions that are asked here every day.

I ask questions because I either want several opinions from people who don't know me and will answer honestly about a situation or I want an experienced opinion on something or I want lots of ideas about what to cook or prepare for a special occasion.

Lol i ask myself that at least 100 times a day..i avoid those questions and just focus on interesting intelligent ones.(and that my friend is a lot of surfin through bull)

When someone takes the trouble to answer my questions, I get a warm fuzzy cared for feeling inside, even if the answers are no where near as accurate as a dictionary or wikipedia. I guess we are all just reaching out for someone who cares. (Sob!)

Its much more fun to see what people think. If I was researching an important topic, sure Id look it up. These people probably dont know any more than you or I.

because some things aren't 'googlable' and as for the rest, it's just more fun to ask a group of randam, unknown virtual friends.
