should'nt you have had a smear as part of your post natal exam I know I did about 6 weeks after giving birth. If your last smear showed abnormalites even just slight changes to the cervical cells they would of called for you within 6 monthes for a repeat smear, believe me I know from experience. Go to your doctors and insist on a smear just to put your mind at rest and even if there is anything they will treat it before it turns nasty it can take years for abnormal cells to develop in cancer. Try not to worry easier said I know but good luck.

Several year back I had an abnormal smear test and had a minor op and two years later the same thing.
The smear test result is an early indicator only. It shows up cells that may or may not turn cancerous at some stage. The smear test works because this is one type of cancer that is not increasing.
The chances of an abnormal result actually being cancer are so tiny as to be almost negligible. If it were cancer there would be other signs such as extreme pain during sexual intercourse, trouble inserting a tampon or abnormal bleeding.
Take a few deep breaths and go for it girl.

If your last test in 2004 was that bad you would have heard long before now, the reason you have had a letter not is because there is now a national register for smear testing and a computer automatically calls you up after 2 years, if your smear test is at all suspicious you will be asked to have a repeat test within 2 weeks. I hope I have put your mind to rest if only just slightly.. good luck

Either doctors tell you nothing or they scare you to death, I would not worry, an infection is not cancer. Yes they should have contacted you at the time either to give you anti-biotics or do another scrape to find out what the infection may be. But seeing as this was in 2004, you have since had a baby and you I assume are in good health then I would imagine there is no infection now. But do go for your smear as they are very important. Relax and good luck.

You must be terrified, but just look at it like this. If it is something nasty, it will be better that it's treated sooner. Smear tests aren't nice, but they aren't as bad as some of the treatments for cancer and so on.
I had a test come back inconclusive, and had to go back after two years instead of the normal 5. When I went back for the next smear the results came back as clear.
I'm sure you will be fine.

i'm in Scotland too and function had 2 smear checks both got here back ok - I continually save up thus far with them, inspite of in case you do go away your dignity on the door yet they're so properly worth it in the lengthy time period. I do imagine the age might want to be decreased in England to the same as Scotland, Jade Goody has further cervical maximum cancers into the well-known public eye and made women human beings more effective attentive to what can happen in case you do not bypass for cervical smears. it is totally unhappy that Jade died so youthful and left 2 eye-catching boys behind without their mom yet she has executed plenty for ladies human beings concerning this each now and then taboo difficulty, because as you reported actually each individual thinks "it is going to by no skill happen to me". xxx

I doubt very much that it's cancer, probably a yeast infection or somthing of that type. Don't panic but defo get a hold of the doctor and put him right, you should have been brought in right away to get treatment!, I'm surprised that after all this time you aren't doubled up in pain! Give them laldy!
Get checked out though as your mind blows things up to be much bigger than they are at times, better safe than sorry though, you'll find the doctor understanding I'm sure, good luck!!!

If the last one came back that you had an infection (or ANYTHING abnormal), they SHOULD have called you right away!!! That's a good malpractice suit against them if something terrible is wrong with your "hoo-ha"....it is their responsibility to notify you. The fact that it's almost two years after you last smear, and they're just notifying you now, is REALLY BAD of them! They're asking to be sued BIG TIME!

Just try not to worry about it - I am pretty sure they wouldn't leave it over a year to tell you if there was something wrong. It is probably nothing. Best thing to do and go and have another one and then you will be able to find out !
