I am a jealous god and you shall have none other before me! He also said we shall make no graven images to bow down and worship. The cross seems pretty graven to me no matter how you try to symbolize it. When Jesus was alive he stressed that we pray to God not to him. Jesus is the word of God, in order to get to God we will have to worship the WORDS ie THE TEN COMMANDMENTS not the man. I fear that mankind is falling into a trap of idol worship! Remember Jesus was SENT here to spread the WORD of God not to become a God himself. God and only God. When your end comes to whom will you pray. Bless you all.

in the Christian religion, God, Jesus and the holy ghost are one in the same. i pray to god, in Jesus' name and ask the holy ghost to intercede for me. the cross is a symbol. i do not pray to the cross or worship it, nor do i worship angels or saints. they are symbols of a faith. i'm Catholic, to be specific. it's easy for people who are not Catholic to accuse us of worshipping mary or saints. that is not the case. sometimes we ask them to pray for us to God. it's the same as asking a friend to pray for you. that's okay in your eyes, right?

Jesus is God. 2000 years ago, GOD came down to earth in the form of the Son. God is Three entities: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Spirit. the cross is a symbol of God, so I believe there is ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with praying at a cross. you dont worship the ten commandments - you follow them because they are the WORD of God.

I really hope this helped you, and Bless you also

=)

i am not christian so i pray to god,i belive in jesus as a prophet, may peace be upon him,and i don`t see the cross as any more than a symbol.

what i want to say is that gods disociate with time as proven by history.it`s due to the fact that by time people cease to understand, like when they lose the concept of how to love and fear a god at the same time, they split the one god to one that has created the world and is feeding them, and another that they answer to after death.

so maybe we just need to look into what made people worship the cross instead of they`r lord, for that the cross wouldn`t build enough faith in the souls of it`s worshipers as much as god could.

Noooooo.....I don't think that's quite right. I worship God. I also consider myself as a worshiper of the Trilogy: God, Jesus & the Holy Spirit. And yes, I do know that the word Trilogy does not appear in the Bible. I don't worship the cross - but I do wear one as a reminder of what Christ did for me. I don't worship the 10 Commandments either. The only requirement to get into Heaven is to accept Christ as your savior. God wants us to do good things and follow the commandments in RESPONSE to his grace, not to secure it. I address my prayers to God, but I still talk to Jesus.

There is a difference btween symbolizing and idolizing. I think most people do not confuse the two. Just as Jesus' stories were often alegorical, so too are religious symbols. They are intended as a visual rememberance of God, not something to replace God.

needless to say, assuming you're no longer insane, you won't be able to have a verbal exchange with your self however the God-guy Jesus, 2nd individual of the Holy Trinity rather prayed, interacted and conversed with God the father and God the Holy Spirit ; in actuality we as people are limited yet we could continually no longer anticipate that we are able to undertaking our human obstacles unto God ; Jesus did so plenty greater beneficial than in basic terms pray to the father, He did so bearing our human nature, bringing us, birthing us to prayer ; it rather is been stated that we won't be able to pray without the ability of the Holy Spirit ; our human nature replaced into in want of plenty fix and Sanctification to deliver us lower back to the factor the place we would desire to communicate with God ; it rather is what Jesus executed for us while He prayed to the father. Jesus did no longer in basic terms redeem us from our sins ; He did so plenty greater and he remains at it.

I pray to my Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ for Crist is our advocate with the Father. Christ said: " No man cometh unto the Father but by me." Christ was sent to the earth to redeem mankind from the fall. "For this is my work and my glory, to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man." I believe men will be punished for their own sins and not Adam's transgression. The result of the fall of Adam brought death into the world; man became mortal. This earth life became a probationary state for the sons and daughters of God. I also believe in God the eternal father, and in His son Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost. They are 3 seperate and distinct beings; however, they are one in purpose. This is how they are one. They are not one and the same. Christ did not pray to himself in Gethsemene, (that would make no sense what so ever).

i pray to jesus because i think that jesus is not a messenger.because if he was then there is no reason in need for the holy mother if you call him to be a prophet, you could find that none had a birth like jesus none lived like jesus and none sacrificed their life for others.jesus came to the world to show the people that humans can live a holy life in the sinful world.

Sometimes I find myself praying
at the checkout counter,
the sack of lettuce laconic under our dusky armpits.

I hold the word in my mind: "Please"
It doesn't repeat.
It doesn't begin nor end.

And making small talk with the new counter girl
over my digital self, the binary Accepted or Denied
testament to all the transfluence of my power
coverging at the moment--

She sees, I don't look her in the eye.
Somehow I think she knows I've failed at this terminus before.
"Please," I pray.

I pray to myself and the world. Some call me Buddhist, some say i am on the path of Tao (Tau-lol), some say i am a mystic or atheist or agnostic in my outlook. Many call me pantheist.
When the end comes i will make peace with myself and the world will follow.
