22nd december 2006...

this is the story line...

The script for Rocky Balboa has the over-the-hill Balboa taking on the reigning heavyweight boxing champ Mason "The Line" Dixon. Both men are trying to restore their dignity: Dixon because he's reviled by fight fans for taking on unproven opponents; Rocky because its been years since the aging boxer from South Philly has climbed into a ring.

The film opens with Dixon in the ring landing a blow on an opponent's chin, sending the other boxer to the canvas. Rather than cheering, the crowd reacts with loud booing and hurls ice at Dixon's corner. "Another disappointing title defense," says the ringside commentator. The next scene finds Rocky seated on an old folding chair in a graveyard where his wife, Adrian, is buried. Seated nearby is Rocky's brother-in-law, Paulie. Rocky rises, kisses the headstone and leaves.

Rocky's wife has died, he is alone, he's an embarrassment to his son, he has nothing to lose and is desperate to not make a third act of his life go in anonymity.

The script has Rocky living in a fast-changing world, but still driven to prove himself, even if it elicits ridicule from those around him.

Rocky now owns a restaurant in the South Philly neighborhood where he grew up, posing for photos with fans who trickle in urging him to tell a few "stories" about the good ol' days when he fought Apollo Creed. The old neighborhood is changing. Asians have replaced the Italians. Rocky orders cheeses from a Vietnamese vendor, lettuce and other produce from a Korean vendor. Rocky's son, Robert, now works for a big corporation, and he doesn't have time for his old man.

Then, one day ESPN telecasts a computer-generated recreation of great athletes of different eras competing against one another in a simulated ring contest. One matchup pits southpaw slugger Rocky Balboa against current champ, Dixon. The computer recreation's result is that Rocky (in his prime) would have beaten Dixon.

Rocky's old spirit is piqued, and he starts exercising and lifting weights again, and trying to set himself up in low-level local fights, just for the fun of being in a fight again and doing what he loved. Meanwhile, the computer recreation spawns an idea in Dixon's camp for an exhibition bout. Rocky hesitantly accepts.

Stallone tackles the age issue head-on in the script. At one point, his son asks Rocky: "Don't you think you're too — ya know, old?" Rocky replies: "Yeah but ya think ya oughta stop 'trying things' 'cause ya had a few too many birthdays? I don't." He adds: "What's crazy with standin' toe to toe sayin' 'I AM.' "

One of Rocky's biggest hurdles is getting the approval of the state boxing commission. Even though he passes the physical, the commission still balks, which provokes this exchange between a commissioner and Rocky:

"We're only looking out for your interests," the commissioner says.

"Yeah, I appreciate it," Rocky replies, "but I think you're lookin' out for your interests a little — I mean, you shouldn't be askin' people to pay the freight, an' they pay it, an' still it ain't good enough?! Think that's right? Maybe ya doin' your job, but why ya gotta stop me from doin' mine, cause if ya willin' to go through all the battlin' ya gotta go through to get to where ya wanna get, ain't nobody got the right to stop ya!"

The boxing commission grants Rocky a new boxing license, and rumors start spreading that the old Champ is back.

Rocky is not only fighting in the ring, but also within himself, and with the general public's attitude towards aging. Rocky knows that he is too old to box again, and that he has taken too much beating in the past. He knows that his body is not what it used to be, but he doesn't want to just give up on life. Giving up would go against Rocky's spirit, what he represents, and what the people who once believed in him expect.

Critics dismiss him, but more and more people ask the question: Is the impossible really possible? Rocky follows his instinct, and decides that he will follow his destiny, even if in the end it might mean his death. His love of his life is long gone, most of his friends have passed away (Mickey died in Rocky III, and Apollo Creed in IV), his old Italian neighborhood has changed, but one thing that has not changed is Rocky's desire to prove that he's never been just another bum from the neighborhood. When the opportunity to fight the current champion, Mason Dixon, arises, Rocky decides to go for it, and take what he wants and desires, to be the best once again.

In this new installment of the Rocky series, Rocky Balboa returns to the ring to fight the present world champion... It's been many years since Rocky Balboa has been in the ring. Through that time his wife Adrian died of cancer, and he and his son, Rocky Jr., have been growing apart. Rocky owns his own deli, and people will come in just to hear his stories. Now ESPN is holding these virtual boxing matches pairing up fighters from different eras, it is a competition. And in the end it showed that if there was a match between "Young" Rocky and the champion Mason "The Line" Dixion, Rocky would win. Seeing this virtual fight makes Rocky remember how much he misses being in the ring. He doesn't miss the winning part, he misses the sport. So he re-registers for his license... This creates a media firestorm, and who should hear about it but Mason himself. Paper View wont pay him anymore because they believe that he is fighting all second rate fighters, and that he's a "paper champion". So his people suggest a fight between him and Rocky. Dixon agrees... The opportunity is brought to Rocky who at first is a little cautious at first, but soon agrees also. Now it is a Battle of the Ages. A true battle of Will v.s. Skill. With the help of Paulie, Tony (his old trainer), and of course his son, it is truly, his final countdown.

I don't know the date when the movie comes out, but I can probably tell you the plot of the movie.

Rocky is a boxer. He kicks butt at the start of the movie. Then a BIG MEAN opponent starts to kick his butt. With Rocky's last bit of heroic strength, he turns the tables and wins the last match. Fans rush the ring and hoist Rocky on their shoulders as he bleeds all over the place. Roll credits!

Rocky Balboa (formerly known as Rocky VI) is a film written and directed by, and starring, Sylvester Stallone as underdog boxer Rocky Balboa. It will be the sixth film in the Rocky series, which began with the Oscar-winning Rocky in 1976. This film is rated PG by the MPAA for boxing violence and some language.

ESPN proposes a virtual fight been the reigning Heavy weight champ and past champions. The eventual winner of the virtual tournament is of course Rocky Balboa. The man he beats is the reigning champ. Rocky tires of the the possibility that he could have been beaten or beat this guy so he comes out of retirement to either whoop this dude or get permanent brain damage.

He fights MR. T at the old folks home and after two grueling rounds Rocky wins by default because Mr. T's wheelchair got tangled in his chains.
