I did a system restore back a month and that is way before it started doing this and it's still doing it so it's obvious it's not a software issue. Any ideas?

It can't be software related, I already said that in the description. I've done a system restore back to way before it wasn't restarting and it still does. It is fairly obvious it is hardware.

Also the system is 2 years old and it's a desktop.

Yes it could be overheating.
Shut down your system, open the case, start your system. If the CPU fan working? Are all the case fans to include the powersupply fan working? If you answer no to any of these questions, fix the fan and see if the problem persists. Also, while you are in there with the power off, blow all the dust bunnies out of there.

If it is a laptop, raise it up so there is free airflow all around it and see if the problem persists. While you have it in your hands, flip iy over and blow all the dust bunnies off the vents on the bottom and the back.

If it is getting that warm, the interior fan might want to be ROARING to relax it off. If the fan doesn't rev up, both it truly is broken or unplugged, or the electronics that administration fan % are not operating. in case you had replaced any application settings at present, i wager you may want to have reported so. you may try shutting down, unplugging, and eliminating the battery for 5 minutes. Then placed it back at the same time and be conscious if it behaves more effective efficient. do not ignore with regard to the problem. in case you save operating it so warm you'll kill your comp formerly too lengthy. The AC adapter likely isn't having an difficulty, all of them get warmth once you employ them not person-friendly. Too warm to manage conveniently is a diverse tale, inspite of the undeniable fact that.

I suggest you run a scan for virus and adware/spyware this is a common problem with that, once the scan is complete delete the infected files from the drive. Click on the link below to download adaware for free. Its the best program to get rid of spyware and its 100 % free too.

download http://www.almico.com/sfdownload.php and check out your temperatures. This should give you an indication of if its overheating, just post what processor you have and what your temperatures look like. Other than that you could also run memtest to check to see if possibly one of your sticks of RAM may have gone bad.

I HAD the same problem and it was with the setting on AOL.. I am certain it has nothing to do with overheating... IF you have AOL, have them run thru it to find out what SETTING is wrong on yours or possibly SOMETHING with AOL setting that you erroneously set.
