Well, if I have the egg mayonnaise or the caviar for starters before the chicken a la king, then its the egg. If I have the carrot soup and then the chicken followed by apple pie and custard, then it's the chicken. I don't mess about ... I won't touch that Birds custard stuff. Has to be real egg custard for me.

Then there's the one about the chicken and the egg in bed together ... that's an old one. It was the egg that got laid.

The person who said 'dinosaur' was right, by the way. Birds evolved from dinosaurs. You only have to look at a chicken to realise that they are not like us ... they should have been dead meat when all the other dinosaurs popped it. If you have ever watched a chicken picking over the remains of roast chicken and have seen how happy they are doing it, you will know that they are evil birds. We only eat their eggs to stop them taking over the world.

Do you believe in evolution?
If "Yes" then it is the EGG
Pre chicken animal (for ease of language, lets call it 'dinosaur') gradually evolves through the 'protochicken' stage to become the modern chicken.
at some point you are going to have the situation where an animal which is more like a 'dinosaur' lays an egg which is more like the modern chicken than it's mother.

Do you believe in evolution?
If "No", then the answer is CHICKEN
because god(s) created the chicken as a whole fully formed animal

I've wondered that myself, but I think the chicken came first. That is, if you believe in God. I doubt God would have just dropped off a ton of eggs on this planet to hatch. Just like how Adam and Eve didn't get put here in sperm/egg form.

Easy. Chickens are not the only egg laying organisms. Insects have been laying eggs for extra millions of years before what could be scientifically determined as "a chicken" evolved.

it depends entirely on your view a devout roman catholic should state the answer is the chicken because in the bible god created animal first NOT eggs. if you are more into the science aspect then i cant help you as i am really bad at science and never understood the evolution theory sorry

Well biblicly and logically I believe that the chicken came first. Biblically because God made the animals. Logically, because if the egg came first, what would sit on it to keep it warm?

I think its the chicken because I believe in biblical theory..the biblical theory states that god created the living things here in earth..
Maybe its chicken because maybe God will create it first so that it will have eggs and soon it wil hatch so that the no of chicken will increase..

Maybe there was a chicken sitting on eggs that were already there? So neither came first...
