The birthdays I remember from when I was younger are themed parties. One year I had a bowling party, but we didn't just go bowling we also played creative games and made little bowling trophies for all sorts of things: first strike, first spare, best granny bowler, ect. That was a lot of fun. Another party I had was a disco party, we decorated our house will all sorts of glitter and pink and purple stuff, and I had a cake that looked like a record (chocolate cake, chocolate frosting - to make it look like a record use a fork on the top to make grooves and use frosting to create a "label." These parties were both a lot of fun.

I've done all sorts of theme parties ranging from Phantom of the Opera to Sixties to Renaissance. You can also do things inexpensively--for example, for a Sixties party, you could tie dye shirts.

They went to the barber college here in town and they all got to choice an up-do (~$5-$10 each) . Then they went out to eat. They all loved it because they all felt grown up and special.

I think sleep overs with like five girls with a theme like fright night is a great idea. Since it seems her birthday is like in October you can make it themed toward halloween. Not too scary but enough to put a slight fright in them. Have all the basic halloween games like bobbing for apples or hanging apples with whipped cream. well for my 13th bday i had a hawaiian theme we got my friends grass skirts and leis and i got on the internet and found out their names in hawaiian and put them on nametags we had lots of fruit like pinnapple and watermellon and we had this tiki hut thing on our counter top. we hung decorations all over the cieling and it was really neat.
