They typically have a pretty meager salary... say $8 an hour if you're lucky... also depnds on the zoo as some have better funding than others. Starting off... I'd count on cleaning up a lot of poop in cages and feed/watering. Especially if you have no formal education. With an education... it would depend on what your college major's focus was in... primates, cats etc...

The salary/remuneration for a particular job is the market value for a particular profession and designation at the city/town where the office is located. Job postings at websites like Monster, Yahoo HotJobs and Careerbuilder carry information about salaries. The Govt Dept of Labor, (www.bls.gov) Bureau of statistics has information about median salaries for different professions and details of additional compensation offered. Other online resources are salary.com and payscale. Your salary will also depend on your educational qualification and how you handle your career. I always go to this website when I'm considering a new career.
FYI: I'm sill young and have no clue what I want with my future.

However, when I go here and check out different salaries and length of time needed in school... It helps me decide, at least for the moment whether or not to consider this or that career.

This is a good question!
it ranges from $7.75 - $27.00
you can work with your degree almost everywhere, food industry, manufacturing, teaching, research, environment, health sector... but most probably you will immediately get hired for $7.75 by McDonald flipping hamburger
