Let's face it. He's not the sharpest knife in the drawer. We all know that he got into Yale and Harvard Business School because of his family connections. However, what I want to know is, how did he pass? I know that I'm going to get a lot of flack from the conservatives here, but consider these things. Before he applied for admission to Harvard Business School, he had applied for admission to the law school at the University of Texas at Austin, who turned him down. (Apparently, the standards of UT-Austin are higher than those of Harvard.) Also, he's ignorant about the world around him and is lacking in intellectual curiosity. On a visit to the US, the Welsh singer Charlotte Church had the chance to meet Bush. He asked her where she was from, and when she told him that she was from Wales, he asked her, "What state is that in?" She had to actually tell him that Wales is a small country that's next to England! Yeah, he's real presidential material!

BEARS#1: He wasn't elected president in 2000. The presidency was handed to him by his dad's friends on the Supreme Court bench. Also, it has been proven that he was admitted to Yale and Harvard Business School because of legacy. I just want to know how he passed. Remember, he wants to "put food on your family" and is concerned about the "nukular" capability of Iran and North Korea.

Mr. No Name: I don't know if Bush bribed his professors to give him passing grades, but I somehow suspect that his family connections had something to do with it. I guess it's sort of like the way some schools give passing grades to dumb jocks just so they can stay on the team.

MARIA: I'm obviously smarter than Bush (not that it takes much). After all, I know where Wales is, and I know that the word "nuclear" isn't pronounced "nukular" and that "misunderestimate" isn't a real word.:)

playtoofast: Actually, Wales is a country in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, as are England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. Richamongous!

turboweegie: Actually, I'm not the only one who says that Bush is ignorant and intellectually lazy. Brent Scowcroft, an old-school Republican, has said exactly the same thing. Also, I'm not criticizing Bush for not knowing who Charlotte Church is. I'm criticizing him for his ignorance of geography. (He's the leader of the free world, so he should know more about it.) Also, one would think that Bushy Boy would have noticed that Charlotte Church doesn't speak with an American accent! And sure, Jimmy Carter may have pronounced the word "nuclear" as "nukular", but you can be sure that he knows where Wales is and that "misunderestimate" isn't a word.:) Also, if you want further proof of Bush's ignorance and lack of intellectual curiosity, you might be interested to know that he was supposed to have once said something like, "I don't need anyone to tell me what to think, but I do need someone to tell me where Kosovo is."

Just be the son of a rich Dady and you will see what opens up to you. This guy is an abject failure, an overpromoted clown. The only presidential material about him are the suits he wears.

wales is part of england seperated by an unofficial border and is not considered a soverign nation .
AND bush did the same way other people do he attended classes and turned in the required course assignments and completed the exams .
ANYONE almost can pass if they show up do the work and take the tests .
I have encountered plenty of people with college degree's that have no clue except about thier particular area of studie and this is just a group of fancy words used among this group to describe ordinary events and processes . Like they might say pharmacokinetics to describe absorbtion rather then just say" the absorbtion rate of codine is 3% per hour .A pharmacologist will say the pharmacokinetics per hour of codeine is 3% .
Creating a special set of words to describe things creates a group seperate from the rest and in order to join it you must learn the lingo as they say .
BUSH lingo is money the universal language of getting what you want .The proper papers always accompanies the aka dog and bush is part of the breed of richassamongus.PLEASE use my new word often .

Why do you make assertions about Bush that you cannot prove? You claim him ignorant and uncurious based on what? Your smug self-esteem? Because you read it on DU.com? Because Arianna said so?

As for 'nukular', that was also how 'intellectual' Jimmah Cahter pronounced it. It is a regional dialect-idiom type thing, not an intelligence thing. I have heard a lot of educated, intelligent people who 'supposably' would 'axe' me a question.

You claim he wasn't elected, showing a deep ignorance and lack of curiosity yourself. He was elected. You need to review what actually happened without Al Franken interpreting events for you.

Also, don't you feel just a wee bit skeptical when someone tells a story that pleases your political biases but has never been independently corroborated? And why would President (elected, twice!) Bush know who Charlotte Church is? After all, in 2000 he had a lot more important things on his mind than who the entertainment was. Apparently, he must have assumed she was American, no? But it's so nice to know that you people think speaking gaffes are worse offenses than lying under oath.

Your hatred and lies and smears about Bush is just tiresome. You need to grow up and get over yourselves.

I agree with Humanist

Only; Both All Roker and Dave Letterman dress better than "W" And I'm not even mentioning how much nicer he would look with some Sean John in his closet.

Face it he is a shame to presidential fashion. Used car salesmen dress better than him.

And what's up with the pickup truck. He is driving his truck every time he gets a chance. What ever happened to Presidential Limo's.

OH well it's almost over and the RNC is saying that Jeb will be much better at diplomacy.

Go big Red Go

Shrubtard didn't have to do anything.. Daddy Bush got him in, just like Daddy gave him a Savings and Loan Corp., and a Baseball Team (TX Rangers), and an oil company, and the Presidency.

Let's face it. Ivy Legaue schools are a joke. The only difficult part is getting in. Once you're in, it's smooth sailing. His connections got him in, and once he was there he was shuffled along like every other rich kid that was there with him, including John Kerry.

And while I'm sure GWB knows where Wales is, he probably didn't know who Charlotte Church was and assumed she was an American upon meeting her.

How did he pass? Well tangerine, he was smart. You simply can't bribe professor's into passing you. So just face it. President Bush actually made good grades compared to Kerry. President Bush is a smart guy. Unlike you. Tunnel Vision Syndrome is what you have.
