Yes. This occurred between my best friend and his wife. (When I know him best, he was still in the closet.) There was hurt and counseling, and she divorced him. Their son was in his early twenties when he came out.
After the divorce and a lot of work, they retained a friendship and his son handled it extremely well and they maintained a father-son relationship.
To tell the truth, I was amazed at the amount of forgiveness and compassion that was shown by all parties. They managed to stand together at their son's wedding reception.
There is a lesson here. I really don't know if I could measure up so well to cope with the situation. But, yes, it was dealt with without apparent searing scars.

Yes there is one in my country. They were both artists and they broke up because the guy is gay.. That's all a person married to a gay who thought he'll change once married. gay men marry due to pressure from society.. But gay men will always be gay.. if you married one then break up and get moving wit your life.. It's too precious to be wasted feeling betrayed.

Yes, a friend of ours. They had been married for 20 years, and they are still married, but now they are swingers. They still love each other, and our friend runs an internet support group for couples who find themselves in this situation. Actually, Oprah asked her to appear on her show, but our friend turned down the invitiation because she was afraid it would be sensationalized.

Apparently my cousin married a guy who was gay. They weren't very long out of college.

I don't know her very well, so my details are sketchy.

But I do know this - saving it for marriage is just plain stupid. If they'd been boinking beforehand, it might have become obvious.

That happened to my aunt. They divorced. She was in therapy for years. They are great friends now. She never remarried. They always got along good and worked together to parent their son. This was in the 70s when they got divorced. They spend holidays together seomtimes and he will be the executor of her will.
