They think their team is good but still don't have a number one wideout. They don't have linebackers except for Trotter. They did nothing in the off season to help themselves. Yet, they think they will compete in the East, why? Jeff Laurie has already started with the excuses about staying healthy. They have money under the cap and don't spend it. Why????

Eagles fans are cocky and arrogant! When their team wins they go on and on and on about how their team is the best and when the Eagles lose, they start pointing fingers and give up on their team!

I cant stand them! They have a lousy team in the most impressive division in football. I'd be surprised if they break 6-10.

The Eagles think they can compete because of their defense. All I see is Dawkins and Trotter.

Jeff Laurie is nothing but a joke! He and all of the other Eagles fans have to make excuses when their team starts losing! They dont spend money because they think they have a good team!

A stupid team with stupid leadership!

The Eagles do have a number 1 wideout, Reggie brown. Yeah' it's his second year, but he'll still be good this year. At linebacker, we have Trotter and up and coming Matt McCoy. Their not the most talented LB's in the leauge, but tey get the job done. In the offseason, they bulked up the defensive line by going out and getting Darren Howard ( who I must say looks very sharp in the first three preseason games) and Brodick Bunkley. Bunkley won't contribute much this year, but he'll improve to statrer quality by next season. We will compete in the east because the Cowboys will self implode because there's a time bomb in the organization. It ticks like this " t o t o t o..." The Redskins starting QB Mark Brunell will strugle, and inexperienced QB of the future Jason Campbell will be starter by week 6, leaving the skins with an 8-8 record. The Giants, I will admit, will probably win the east because of all around solid talent, but expect the Eagles to be a wildcard team witha 10-6 record. We will stay healthy. Even Buckhalter will stay healty and will run for 500+ yards and 4 TDs. I do agree that's Lurie's being a little cheap with all that cash we have available. He should've seeked Javon Walker more agrresively. Anyway, were not blind, and the only fans that are blind are the cowboys fans for treating TO like the second coming of Jesus Christ. He's more like the anti-christ

Good teams generally start with lines. The Eagles have combined veterans and younger players to have a great deal of talent and depth on both the offensive and defensive lines. Other than taking Donovan McNabb instead of Ricky Williams and the TO debacle, this has been the hallmark of Andy Reid's drafts and free agent aquisitions. This is also where they helped themselves in the off-season, by bringing in Darren Howard and drafting Broderick Bunkley, Winston Justice and Max Jean-Gilles.

The wide receivers are very young, but New England was able to win 3 Super Bowls in 4 years without what most would consider "a number one wideout." The linebackers look a lot better when the D-line plays well. The defensive backfield has huge talent, but not a lot of depth.

Staying healthy makes a huge difference in the NFL. See what happens to Seattle this year. (I don't believe in curses, but losing the Super Bowl and having the most prolific touchdown machine int he NFL on the cover of Madden 07 seems to be tempting fate). See if Clinton Portis' shoulder doesn't hurt the Redskins in September.

Salary cap management is a complex subject. Spending to the cap only helps your team if it improves the team. The 49ers spent up to the cap in the late 90's and they still haven't recovered. Let's say that the Eagles worked out something for Ashley Lelie. The problem isn't the cap this year, it's the hit you take down the line for guaranteed money.

Finally, the Eagles have been pretty successful over the past 5 years. Nobody else has been in 4 conference championship games. Granted, New England made the most of their chances and won the Super Bowl each time they got to the conference championship. Only 12 of the 32 teams have been to any conference championship games in the last 5 years.

In general (maybe not on Yahoo! Answers, but in general) Eagles fans are pretty knowledgeable and don't stand for poor play from their team or poor decisions by the coaches. We don't boo because we don't like the team. We boo because someone isn't doing their job.

Wide Receivers are just a small step above kickers and punters on football teams. Marvin Harrison, Terrell Owens and Randy Moss have a combined 0 Super Bowls and 1 appearance. The Patriots dont have a number one receiver either.

The Eagles got healthy over the offseason to help themselves. And they got Darren Howard.

You dont just spend money for giggles. Only 48 guys dress so you want to make sure the guys you sign have a chance to make the team. Or else your just spending money and getting nothing then if you have a chance to do an awesome trade (possibly Lelie) you cant because you spent money on free agents who didnt make the team.

The Eagles may sign a runningback who gets cut as a salary cap casualty once cuts start.

I don't like the Eagles but your wrong. They have adequate WR, and a great RB. They're defense had some injuries last year but they are solid big time.

The NFC East is highly overrated. There are huge questions for each team and if you stop the run and make Manning try to win the game, the Giants are very beatable. The Redskins QB's are not good, and Dallas has their own problems at QB.

The NFC can't compare to the AFC who has much better teams.

may i remind everyone that the eagles went to the NFC championship 3 times straight before TO got there. how many times have the other teams in the NFC east gone to the NFC championship in the last 5 years. even in the eagles off year they coudlnt get to the suprbowl. that just means a team doesnt need TO to be good. but they do have their work cut out for them.

-The Eagles have Donovan McNabb
-Their lines are decent
-They have a nice secondary
-Still a bit weak at linebacker and very weak in the wide receiver position
-They have a very good running game.
-Okay on special teams, very good in kicking
-Soft first half schedule, brutal second half

I see no reason they can't go 9-7 or even 10-6 with a bit of luck

Anyone who thinks the Eagles have a chance only need look at the last six games on their schedule:

@Indianapolis
Carolina
@Washington
@NY Giants
@Dallas
Atlanta

They'll be lucky to win 2 of those, but a good chance to go 0-6 in that stretch.

For the same reasons that the Cardinals, Bengals, Browns, Saints, Chiefs, Jaguars, and Chargers fans stand behind their teams.

its all of andy reids fat.... you forgot to mention they need a starting q an offensive line a defensive line a running game and a defensive backfeild infact they need a head coach no fifty tons of retarded goo as a matter of fact philadelphia needs a real pro sports team not the bunch of bums wimps and cowards that are there.... remember this the only reason they went to the superbowl is because T.O. took them there not to mention the fact he was responsible for them winning more than 2 games the last couple years
