Mary Chapin Carpenter, an American country singer, sang a song by the name of "He Thinks He'll Keep Her."

"This song was inspired by a 1970s Geritol TV commercial (which would now be regarded as extremely sexist and patronizing), in which a husband cites his wife's many attributes, summarizing with, 'I think I'll keep her.'"

I remember it being from a television commercial years ago...maybe back in the 70's. I think it was a coffee commercial, but I'm not positive.

I believe the particular phrase was first used in a Geritol commercial, but I believe it is also a reference to a Henny Youngman one-line, "Take my wife, please!"
