I don't know why people think Americans are stupid and Japanese are clever. It is impossible to tell which race is the smartest because smartness means different things to different people. The Japanese like to compete does that make them smart. I don't think so.The suicide rate is the highest in Japan.Depends on what people value in life. I personally think Amercians are much smarter.By the way I am not Amercian.

Average American is definitely stupid. Why else they would vote TWICE for Bush Jr?
Japs are cleverer. Just think what the country with practically no natural resources has achieved.

u must understand that the ave american was borne out of the outstanding American that developed his society so well that millions of Japanese r willing to come live in America.
So if u r looking at the Ave person from both countries, ur question may hv a basis for comparison. but right now. its a biased question. rephrase pls.
