It's become a multi-billion dollar a year industry. I couldn't care less who is marrying who, who is divorcing who, who is having who's kid. Obviously some people do. I'm just trying to understand the facination people have with, in most cases, total strangers.

It's all about the gossip. It's almost taboo to gossip about people in my own life. They're my friends, family, coworkers. And there's always the possibility of it getting back to them. But with celebrities, it's an open window. They're out there in the public and they choose to be. There are celebrities who's personal lives we know nothing about, and then there are the ones that flaunt it, even their misery. It's great publicity for them, their name becomes a household name. Everyone knows who they are. I just saw in the last issue of People magazine where celebrities feed the paparazzi who follow them!! What can I say, my family, friends, and coworkers have boring, ordinary lives compared to celebrities.

Actually the only ones who care about celebritis personal lives are those who have no lives of their own.
Celebrities are really no different than the rest of the world except that they themselves sometimes thing they are.

The reason simply being that we "see" ourselves living our lives through our fave celebs.
They (celebs) represent the life we love/ envy to have but know that will never get/ achieve it anywhere in this lifetime, lol!
I guess celebs' lives offer us an "escape" from our mundane lives... not that I care either as you've mentioned. Am just in it for idle reading nothing more☺

What an excellent question! I've been asking it for years... I think there is a market for it (just like reality shows) that appeals to people that have such loser lives that there own life is SO boring, they have to get involved with someone elses!

Because they are perfect. And their lives seem so perfect and unattainable. Some people enjoy fantasising about something they don't have by looking and knowing about these people. And others it's simply to gossip.

human beings care via fact he replaced right into a respected artist (whats up the two are) and he did that. generally somebody with a super popularity they wouldnt destroy it via hitting their lady chum/boyfriend. it rather is abonormal for somebody that has all that money and each and all of the administration of their lives to do one in each and every of those terrible ingredient.

Because these peoplet themselves dont have a life, so they all into everybodys business for a lil more excitement into theirs, or some people are just plain ol' nosy!

Because they are so uncontented with their own personal lives that any controversy in a life of another makes one's life more interesting because he can rant about it all week long.
