I already know about all the basic search engines, and searching services. But how do the search services get their information? and how can I get, what they have? how can I legally get all of the information that is available on line? what websites do I go to? I know about Intelius, and People Search, and People Finder, and a few others like that. Where are they going, to get their information? I have always heard of people that can get on line, and find out nearly anything on someone else. They say, they can access someone's latest address through phone records, through electrical service records. Is that true? Can that be done? How? Where? I am trying to get all of the available information that can be legally obtained about someone, on line. I don't want to have to pay a service, to get something that they can get for free.

You've answered your own question.
Those firms have access to public records as we do, but they know the "right people" who have further access to ones personal info. They may pay for it. IDK.

For example, you and I cannot check an automobile license number. They can.
