check out overclockers.com - they don't have any rubbish at all so you don't have to sift through stuff and misco.co.uk is also worth a look.

This, my friend, is the L Mach 3.8. To start, it features 3.8GHz Accelerated Hyper-Threading Intel® Pentium 4 Extreme Edition CPU with 2MB L3 Cache, a 512K L2 Cache, and a 950MHz System Bus. If thats not enough you can order systems with as much as 2 Terabytes of storage and up to 16GB Total RAM with optional RamDrives or up to 4GB PC4200 533MHz Dual-Channel Performance DDR RAM! In addition it has everything else you can imagine. LCD multi-information displays on the case, 6 in 1 Flash Memory Card Readers, digital VU meters, USB 2.0, and Firewire 800, the best in video graphics cards, and even the cooling system in itself nothing less than AMAZING!

Don't! You should be able to pick up a good machine for £500 nowadays, or go the custom build route, either way it shouldn't cost a grand, thats what my first PC cost away back in 1994!

Spend half on a pc and the other half on a ticket to Prague, when your there hire a nice hotel, then go out drink champagne ( very cheap ) and meet some people!
Good memories are priceless!

My advice is,dont go to a big mainstream pc dealer just find a small pc shop near you and go in and tell them what you want to spend and they will build you a pc to your requirements

Order over the net from Eversham Micros, Cambridge. You can get a quote first and specify all the different components you require and have it built to order. Delivery is quick and reliable, and their machines are very good.
