How soon after your egg is fertilized, does implantation occur, and would you feel slight sharp cramps in your abdomen? We possibly conceived by insemination on Sunday 8/13- I was taking fertility drugs (clomid & ovidrel) today I am extremely bloated and yesterday I was feeling sharp little cramps in my lower abdomen, on both sides? Is this my mind playing tricks or could this be a sign that we succeeded?

Well, I go to the doctor Monday 8/21 for blood work to check my progesterone levels. He said they can tell if I am preg. or not up to 72 hrs of implantation. Isn't that amazing? Wish me luck everyone : )

Implantation occurs within a few days of fertilization. The bloating could possibly be from the drugs. Cramping could be from ovulation or from implantation - or maybe nothing. When you're trying to conceive, you start seeing symptoms everywhere. The best thing to do is to put your mind on something else (ha ha) for the week or so that you have left until you can test. Good luck!

Oh sweetie, it might have been. I've been where you are and I know how desperate you get and look for signs everywhere.

Those could be signs, but I think you should ask your doctor. (I know my fertility doctor was nice, but his staff were MEANIES!) Just be sure it is not a sign of a hyperstimulated ovary.

Call your doctor.

Some women do cramp the day of implantation. We didn't do insemination and I found out I was pregnant 1 week before a procedure with the infertility doctor after 2 years of this junk!

I just got really really crabby the day of implantation. I remember telling my mother in law I was ready to kill my husband (and he wasn't really doing anything that day)....even my little boy was irritating me!

Good luck! I'll pray for you!

I don't know about the fertility drugs. But the pain could be your clue, if it's not from those meds. I had the same thing happening - but because I was sure I could not be pregnant, I went to the doctor because of that odd pain. Well, he said that if you have pain there, that's a sure sign for pregnancy. I denied that I could be pregnant and he did the test. Yes, I was pregnant - and that pain wasn't my mind playing tricks, that was there.

Good luck!

you aren't likely experiencing cramps due to implantation.
when i used fettility drugs (clomid too) it can stimulate your ovaries so that they are enlarged and this creates an uncomfortable bloating sensation.
some of the cramps etc may be due to the drugs.

that does not mean that you were not successful. when i went through the same procedures there were no reliable methods of finding out if we were successful except waiting. this was extremely frustrating and went against my natural personality but i kept bust and suggest you should too. (nothing strenuous) go to movies etc.

best of luck to you.... you should probably lay down for a while.

This is a side affect of taking clomid, and not a sign of pregnancy i am afraid, but you still might be so good luck, you will just have to wait and see

I would think that it's to soon to be experiencing symptoms of pregnancy. When is your period due? Not exactly sure, could be how you were inseminated. Good Luck and congrats though.
